Plastic military model for assembly: Artillery tractor C2P 1:72 First To Fight PL003
Discover the fascinating history of the Polish light tracked artillery tractor C2P, which played a significant role in the Polish army before World War II. The 1:72 scale model from First To Fight is a great opportunity to build a miniature of this historical vehicle, which was an integral part of Polish anti-aircraft units.
Model features:
- Scale: 1:72
- Manufacturer: First To Fight
- Catalog number: PL003
History and use: The C2P tractor was developed in the mid-1930s based on the TKS tankette. Its main task was to tow anti-aircraft guns wz. 36 and ammunition trailers. After the September campaign, some of these vehicles were taken over by the Wehrmacht and used almost until the end of World War II.
The design of the C2P tractor began in 1931 when the General Staff of the Polish Army commissioned the development of an artillery tractor based on the chassis of the TK-3 tankette. The first prototype was built in 1933, and after a series of modifications and tests, it was approved in 1937 as a vehicle for transporting 40 mm anti-aircraft guns.
The C2P tractor was equipped with a modern steering mechanism using side clutches, which increased its maneuverability. The vehicle could carry four crew members and was adapted to difficult terrain conditions, making it indispensable in military operations.
One of the preserved C2P tractors, originating from France or Spain, is currently in Poland, in the collection of Adam Rudnicki. This vehicle has been restored to full mechanical efficiency.
