- Scale: 1:35
- Manufacturer: Border Model
- Catalog number: BT051
History and usage: The 7.5 cm PaK 40 anti-tank gun (Panzerabwehrkanone 40) was developed between 1939 and 1941 and entered service in 1942. It was a response to the emergence of new heavily armored Soviet tanks, such as the T-34 and KV-1. The PaK 40 became the standard anti-tank gun of the German army in the later stages of the war, with production reaching 23,303 units.
The gun was primarily used in towed form, but it also found application in self-propelled artillery, such as the Marder series. The PaK 40 was also supplied to Germany's allies, and some captured units were used by the Red Army.
The PaK 40 was effective against most Allied tanks until the end of the war, although it struggled to penetrate the armor of heavier vehicles, such as the Soviet IS tanks, the American M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo, and M26 Pershing, as well as later versions of the British Churchill tank.
