History and use of the vehicle: The Sd.Kfz. 11 was a German half-track tractor that found wide application during World War II. Its main task was to tow medium towed artillery, such as the 3.7 cm FlaK 43 (anti-aircraft gun) and the 10.5 cm leFH 18 (field howitzer). The vehicle could transport eight soldiers, in addition to towing a gun or trailer.

Production and development: Initial work on German half-tracks was conducted by the Military Motorization Department of the Reichswehr during the Weimar Republic. The final design and testing were commissioned to commercial companies, and production was divided among several enterprises. Initially, the development of the Sd.Kfz. 11 was entrusted to the Borgward company, but in 1938 it was taken over by Hanomag, which designed the main production version H kl 6.

Participation in military operations: The Sd.Kfz. 11 was one of the more numerous German tactical vehicles, with about 9,000 units produced between 1938 and 1945. It participated in many key campaigns, such as the invasion of Poland, the Battle of France, the Balkan campaign, and also fought on the Western and Eastern fronts, in North Africa and Italy. In 1942, nine units were also sent to the Kingdom of Romania.
