History of the Pz.Kpfw 35(t) tank: The Panzerkampfwagen 35(t), also known as Pz.Kpfw. 35(t), was a Czechoslovak light tank that was adapted by Germany after the occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1939. The letter "(t)" in the name stands for "tschechisch," meaning "Czech" in German. A total of 434 units of this tank were produced, of which 244 were taken over by the Germans and 52 by the Slovaks after declaring independence from Czechoslovakia.
This tank was used by the Germans as a substitute for the medium tanks Panzerkampfwagen III and participated in many key military operations, such as the invasion of Poland, the Battle of France, and the invasion of the Soviet Union. Although this tank was initially effective, its limitations, such as thin armor and insufficient firepower, became apparent during the campaign in the USSR, leading to its withdrawal from the front in 1942.
