Plastic model kit of Boeing 747-200 in 1:390 scale.

The Boeing 747 is a long-range wide-body airliner manufactured by the Boeing Company, commonly known as the Jumbo Jet - second only to the Airbus A380 and the An-225, it is one of the largest jets in the world, capable of carrying between 366 and 660 passengers, depending on the version and configuration. There are also cargo versions, and semi-passenger versions taking large cargo and 220 passengers. It is a four-engine airplane (certified to fly - in case of failure - on only three engines), and its defining feature is the "hump" that houses the plane's upper deck.

The Boeing 747 made its first flight on February 9, 1969, and entered service in 1970 on American Pan Am Airlines. As of December 2014, 1501 of this aircraft in all versions had been produced. On June 28, 2014, Boeing delivered the 1500th Jumbo Jet produced, the recipient was German airline Lufthansa, and the machine was a 747-8i model.

The 747-200 version has been in service since 1971, with the last delivered (-200F) in 1990. Compared to the -100 version, it has a longer range and consequently more powerful engines, a larger fuel tank capacity and a reinforced structure allowing for higher take-off weight.
