We present a plastic model for assembly of the Polish artillery tractor PZInż 302, which was one of the key vehicles of the Polish Army during the interwar period. This model is part of the First To Fight series, which focuses on vehicles and equipment used during the September campaign of 1939.

Vehicle history:

The PZInż 302 tractor was developed at the State Engineering Works in response to the needs of the Polish Army for towing Bofors wz. 36 anti-tank guns of 37 mm caliber. The prototype of the vehicle was created at the end of 1935, based on elements of the Polish Fiat 508 and Polish Fiat 518 cars. After conducting tests and making necessary modifications, serial production began in 1937.

The PZInż 302 was an open-body vehicle capable of transporting five crew members and 80 rounds of ammunition. It was a versatile vehicle, used not only for towing guns but also in anti-aircraft and anti-tank artillery units, such as the 10th Cavalry Brigade and the Warsaw Armored-Motor Brigade. This vehicle was also used in special units of some cavalry, infantry, and sapper units.

The Polish Fiat 508/518, including its variant PZInż 302, played a significant role in the military structure of Poland before the outbreak of World War II. After the defeat in the September campaign, many of these vehicles were seized by the Germans and incorporated into the equipment of the Wehrmacht.
