About the B-1B Lancer: The Rockwell B-1 Lancer, also known as "Bone" (from "B-One"), is a supersonic bomber with variable wing geometry, used by the United States Air Force. It is one of three strategic bombers in the USAF, alongside the B-2 Spirit and B-52 Stratofortress. The B-1B Lancer can carry a payload of up to 34,000 kg, making it one of the heaviest bombers in the USAF arsenal.

The history of the B-1B dates back to the 1960s when work began on a bomber that would combine the Mach 2 speed of the B-58 Hustler with the range and payload of the B-52. After numerous studies, the B-1A project was canceled in 1977 due to high costs and the development of new technologies, such as the AGM-86 cruise missiles. The program was revived in 1981, and the modified B-1B entered service in 1986.

Initially, the B-1B was intended for nuclear missions, but after the collapse of the Soviet Union, its role was changed to conventional bombing.
