USS Hammann (DD-412) was a destroyer of World War II in the service of the United States Navy, named in honor of Ensign Charles Hammann, a Medal of Honor recipient from World War I. Hammann was sunk during the Battle of Midway while assisting the sinking aircraft carrier USS Yorktown.
Hammann was launched by the Federal Shipbuilding and Drydock Company in New Jersey on February 4, 1939. Commissioned on August 11, 1939, with Commander Arnold E. True. Hammann conducted shakedown maneuvers off the eastern seaboard and for the next two years participated in training and readiness operations on both coasts.
Dimensions when assembled: length: approx. 151 mm, width: approx. 15 mm, height: approx. 41 mm.
Assembly and painting kit. Does not include paints or glue. Assembly requires separately sold modeling tools (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
