Model Shop with Tamiya Products
Tamiya is a Japanese company, founded as a construction firm in 1946 in Oshika, Shizouka, Japan - originally a sawmill and wood supply company. Due to the large amount of available wood, in 1947 Tamiya also established a department creating wooden models of airplanes and ships - which soon became the main direction of the company's development. In 1960, it released its first plastic model kit (the battleship Yamato in 1/800 scale), and in 1962, the first plastic tank model (motorized) - the Panther in 1/35 scale. In 1968, Tamiya's products first appeared at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany, where it also celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017. This manufacturer is known for the accuracy of its model kits, which often reflect all the small details - such as individual screws and rivets.
Our model shop offers a wide range of Tamiya products in the field of static modeling - car models, vehicles, airplanes, tanks, and figures. Every modeler should find a suitable assembly kit in Tamiya's offer. Tamiya also has a wide range of modeling paints in its portfolio. Brush and airbrush paints - acrylics, available in 10ml and 23ml bottles, enamels - in square 10ml bottles, divided into series X and XF (glossy and matte paints, respectively), or even lacquers (LP series). Each plastic model kit comes with an assembly instruction manual, which includes a list of specific color codes needed to paint the model - in the case of Tamiya models, which produce some of the highest quality models - additionally enjoyable to assemble, due to the excellent fit of the individual parts - these codes will refer to the manufacturer Tamiya.
To assemble a plastic model kit, model glue is of course also needed (Tamiya produces excellent glue - Extra Thin Cement, which is already legendary in this hobby, and recommended for anyone starting their journey with model assembly), side cutters - for cutting parts from the sprues - Tamiya has several versions available at different price ranges, and brushes - which we can also choose, completing all accessories with products from one manufacturer - which is Tamiya.
