Gray Spray Primer by Tamiya - Surface Primer for Plastic & Metal (Tamiya 87026)

Primer paint in a can, suitable for use on both plastic and metal parts.

Before applying the target color to the model or figure we are assembling, it is best to apply primer paint so that the target paint adheres evenly to the painted surface and has a uniform color. Spray primer in a can is the easiest way to apply primer - it does not require the purchase of an airbrush and is a much easier and more convenient method than applying primer with a brush.

Gray primer is the most universal primer and is suitable for a wide range of target colors. Besides gray primers, white and black are the most common, although primers in other shades are also available.

Before using this spray primer (as well as any other paints), it should be thoroughly mixed by shaking the can.

We recommend applying the paint while holding the dispenser 20-25cm away from the painted surface (at a shorter distance, the paint will accumulate in crevices). It is also advisable to degrease the model before painting, for example, by washing it with dish soap or isopropyl alcohol (IPA). This primer dries very quickly, and like most Tamiya spray paints, it forgives mistakes during painting, still providing a good quality coating on the model.
