The Grumman F-14D Tomcat is the ultimate and most advanced version of the legendary American carrier-based fighter, which for decades was the backbone of the US Navy's firepower. The 1:72 scale model from Tamiya (catalog number 60795) is a new mold developed in 2025, which captures the details of this iconic machine with extraordinary precision.

The F-14D, also known as the Super Tomcat, received more powerful General Electric F110-GE-400 engines and modern, digital avionics and radar systems. These changes allowed it not only to effectively defend the fleet but also to carry out precise ground attacks using LANTIRN pods and laser-guided bombs.

Main features of the model:

Faithful reproduction of the F-14D silhouette with characteristic fuselage and air intake details.
Movable variable-geometry wings, connected by an internal gear mechanism for synchronous operation.
Interchangeable sealing panels and airbags allowing for a realistic depiction of the wings in the spread or folded position.
Rich armament set: AIM-54C Phoenix missiles, AIM-9L/M Sidewinder, GBU-12 bombs, and LANTIRN targeting pod.
Option to assemble the in-flight refueling probe and the boarding ladder in the stowed or extended position.
Movable horizontal stabilizers mounted on polycaps.
Two seated pilot figures.
The set includes masks for painting the canopy and metal decals to reinforce the fuselage panels.
