Description
Plastic model kit Honda S2000
Since the production of the Honda S800 ended in 1970, the FR sports car disappeared from the manufacturer's lineup.
However, Honda created a new FR sports car with the new Honda S2000, which debuted in April 1999. With its sleek profile and sloping front, the traditional roadster form was integrated with a futuristic look. The S2000 is equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder DOHC VTEC engine that can generate 250 horsepower.
This 21st-century sports car with a displacement of 2000 cm3 celebrates Honda's 50th anniversary and is considered a masterpiece of automotive engineering.
- Model based on the 1999 Honda S2000.
- Extended body with an aerodynamic nose perfectly captures the aggressive form.
- Open and closed roof options.
- Realistic decals and metal stickers complement the car, providing a stylish finish.
- The interior features bucket seats, an F-1 style dashboard, and a sporty pedal with aluminum overlays, all faithfully recreated.
- High detail captured in the engine and transmission, visible from below. The double-wishbone suspension and dual exhaust system are also very intricately reproduced.
Our subjective suggestion for the minimum number of colors needed to paint and assemble this model:
- Tamiya X-18 / Vallejo 70861 - Semi gloss black / hubs, chassis, wheel arches, shock absorbers, sills, interior elements, bumper grilles, wipers, window frames
- Tamiya X-27 / Vallejo 70934 - Clear red / rear lights, turn signals
- Tamiya XF-1 / Vallejo 70950 - Flat black / carpeting, material of the closed roof (can be omitted if only the convertible and red carpeting are of interest)
- Tamiya XF-7 / Vallejo 70947 - Flat red / seats, brake calipers, carpeting
- Tamiya XF-16 / Vallejo 71064 - Chrome silver / brake discs, exhaust system, bottom of the engine, radiator, pedals
- Body/shell, for example one of:
- TS-8 Italian red / New formula red
- TS-14 Black / Berlina black
- TS-26 Pure white / Grand Prix white
- TS-47 Chrome yellow / Indy yellow pearl
- TS-50 Mica blue / Monte Carlo blue pearl
If we want to keep the car in JDM style, it is better to use Tamiya X-6 Orange/Vallejo 70956 for the turn signals instead of X-27, but this will probably be the only element in this color in the entire model.
A complete list of colors recommended by the manufacturer is available in the assembly instructions (link below).
Assembly kit. Does not include paints or glue. To assemble, separately sold modeling tools are needed (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
