History and Background of the Car: The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI, produced from January 1999 to August 2001, is the sixth generation of the legendary Lancer Evolution series. This car gained recognition for its reliability and performance, which were the result of numerous modifications focused on improving engine cooling and durability. Among these changes were a larger intercooler, a larger oil cooler, and new pistons. The RS model was distinguished by the use of a titanium-aluminum turbine wheel, which was a novelty in production cars.

One of the most well-known variants of the Evolution VI is the Tommi Mäkinen edition, named in honor of the Finnish rally driver who won four WRC world championship titles for Mitsubishi. This edition featured a unique front bumper, red and black Recaro seats with the T. Mäkinen logo, 17-inch white Enkei wheels, a Momo leather steering wheel, and a gear shift knob, as well as a titanium turbo that spooled up faster. This car also had a lowered suspension and a quicker steering ratio, making it ideal for tarmac rally stages.
