Plastic model car kit: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Nismo Z-tune 1:24 Tamiya 24282

Nissan Skyline R34 in a tuning version, developed by the NISMO team - the sports division of Nissan. This is the last variant of the R34 ever produced.

In 2005, Nissan made the decision to allow the production of 20 cars by hand for customers, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of NISMO. These cars were based on used R34 V-Spec - the factory purchased 20 units with mileage lower than about 28,000 km, then completely disassembled them to their first parts. All cars were repainted in 'Z-Tune Silver' (except for one, which remained in the original Midnight Purple III), the engine was changed to a bored version of the RB26DETT with a capacity of 2.8L and reinforced pistons and block. As a result, this engine could rev up to 8000 rpm without any issues, and together with dedicated IHI turbos, it achieved a power of 500 HP (where the standard R34 GTR achieved a maximum power of about 276 HP).

The appearance was not significantly changed compared to the base version of the R34 GTR, the car only features a custom front bumper, fenders, and hood that are unique to the Z-Tune model. The R34 Z-Tune also received the now-iconic Nismo LMGT4 wheels and a lowered Sachs suspension.

Ultimately, 19 units of the GT-R Z-Tune were produced, including one (or two - depending on the sources) prototype unit.
