Dinosaurs and pterosaurs dominated the Earth during the Mesozoic era, and the winged pteranodon was a type of pterosaur that lived at the end of the Cretaceous period (about 85 million years ago).
While its wingspan ranged from six to eight meters, it weighed only about 20 kilograms; the membrane stretched from the fourth finger of its hand and allowed it to fly.
They would swoop down from the sky to catch their prey, which likely included fish.
